Our History

Gillamor Stephens was founded in October 1998 by Paul Gillespie, Steve Lavelle and Steve Morrison to offer a select number of clients a more personal and relationship-focused solution to executive recruitment in the Technology and Venture Capital sectors. Dominic Burrows joined in 2004, followed by Graeme Bilsland in 2005.

To stay ahead of the ever changing market, we have recently expanded our specialist practice areas to include Online and Clean Tech companies.

The company survived the dotcom crash and technology sector downturn due to the strength of relationships and degree of goodwill built up from years of delivering on business critical assignments.

In 2006 we introduced GS Select, our mid-market management offering for recruiting senior managers with a guideline base salary of £50k - £100k to complement our existing executive search service. This means we are able to offer clients a complete search-based recruitment solution for their senior executive and management hiring needs.

In 2006 we also founded the Mosaic Global Executive Search alliance along with BSP in Asia Pacific and Mainstay Partners in North America. LGES joined in 2007, and Cleantech Search joined in 2008. Read more about the Mosaic alliance here.
