About VirtenSys

VirtenSys is probably the most exciting fabless semiconductor start-up company in Europe. The focus is on creating technology solutions to meet customer and market demands, rather than technology looking for an application.

The Role

VirtenSys needed a high calibre CEO to set and execute a clear plan for business and commercial success, maximising the immediate and longterm market opportunities. Following the appointment of the CEO, we were also asked to complement the team with a high calibre Non Executive Chairman to guide the company to meet its business goals, through supporting and mentoring the management team and leading the Board.

Client Feedback

We worked with Gillamor Stephens on these key appointments due to their track record with SEP and the other investors. We needed a trans-Atlantic search for the CEO and Chairman, and Gillamor Stephens worked with their West Coast partner to deliver an excellent shortlist of US and European located candidates. We had candidates from the East and West Coast, including several UK expats who had been in the Valley for many years.

The quality of the candidates was impressive and Gillamor Stephens successfully managed the Board through a comprehensive assessment process to deliver the preferred candidate. We were supported through the offer negotiation process and then through the lead up to the new CEO and Chairman commencing their roles.

We have hired two excellent candidates and the Board were very impressed by the calibre of all candidates presented.

I and SEP will continue to work with Gillamor Stephens in the future on the basis of the calibre of this and prior work.

Stuart Paterson, Investment Director, SEP
